Morning Gratitude: A Poem

I am grateful I can sing

Because it means I have a voice

I am grateful I can dance

Because it gives me the ability to move through life gracefully

I am grateful for my tears

Because they teach me how to feel

I am grateful for my curiosity

Because it’s invited me to see the world

I am grateful for my sensitivity

Because it gives me empathy and the desire to help others

I am grateful I grew up poor

Because it showed me the important things in life

I am grateful for the scars on my body

Because they taught me to embrace my imperfections

I am grateful for my darkness

Because it guides me to my light

I am grateful for my anxiety

Because it reminds me to be truthful to myself

And finally, I am grateful for my ability to love

Because love is the greatest power in the Universe
